The monastery can be walked on your own — an audioguide is available in eleven languages — and guided tours start several times a day.
Monastery visit
The Basilica of St Martin, the cloister, the 13th-century crypt, the treasury and the neoclassical library. Audioguide in English, German, French, Italian, Russian, Slovak, Polish, Japanese, Dutch, Chinese and Spanish.

Frequently asked questions
01Do I need to buy a ticket in advance?
Not for a self-guided visit, though it is advisable in high season. Guided tours and group programmes do need to be booked ahead.
02When do the guided tours start?
Between 1 June and 1 September daily at 11:00, 13:00 and 15:00. For the rest of the year at 11:00 and 14:00, except Mondays.
03Which languages does the audioguide cover?
English, German, French, Italian, Russian, Slovak, Polish, Japanese, Dutch, Chinese and Spanish.
04How do I book for a school group?
Museum-education programmes are arranged in advance. Write or call us with your group size and we will hold a slot.
05What can I see without a ticket?
The arboretum and the herb garden are free to visit all year, as is the Blessed Maurus lookout.
