Concert series 2026
Organ recitals and choral music in the Basilica.
Gregorian chant and jazz, codices and contemporary exhibitions — for a thousand years the hill has been a home of culture.
Pannonhalma's JazzNyár turns twenty this year. The concerts are held in the Arboretum and Herb Garden — in the open air, under the trees, on the edge of the hill.
The closing concert brings Fusio Group with Erika Kertész, supported by Jambalaya and Zolbert.
Organ recitals and choral music in the Basilica.
The Year of the School — temporary exhibitions in the monastery.
An arts festival — music, visual art, dialogue.
Books and a journal drawn from the monastic tradition.
Three collections hold the written and material memory of the hill — a library, a museum and an archive.
The building went up in the 1820s to Ferenc Engel's design, with the oval hall the work of János Packh. The idea it embodies is fifteen centuries old: St Benedict gave reading such a place in monastic life that the monks' work preserved the writings of Greece and Rome for us as well.
Home to the abbey's material heritage and its temporary exhibitions, with special programmes on the Night of Museums and the major feasts.
The written memory of the monastery, from the founding charter to the present day — open to researchers by prior arrangement.
Without friends who love music and art, Arcus Temporum would not be what it is: three days of concerts — classical and contemporary — with art and literature alongside them, in the spaces of the thousand-year-old Archabbey. Members of the Circle get four things:
A quarterly newsletter with the festival's latest news and the programme as it takes shape.
One meeting a year with the festival's artistic directors, in person.
Tickets open to members a week before they go on public sale.
News of the Archabbey's other events, and guided tours and walks at the festival for members only.
